Sagada, Day 1

Sagada is a municipality in Mountain Province. We took the Cable Tours bus to Bontoc, an eleven-hour trip from Manila. After a quick breakfast in Bontoc, we took a van to Sagada, which took another hour.

Sumaging Cave. Inside there were small falls and pools with freezing cold water. Combine it with the low temperature inside the cave at talaga namang walang malaking hindi liliit sa lamig. There was a part where the guide made us choose between taking the safe way to another part of the cave, or lulusot kami sa maliit na butas at lulusong sa chest-deep water. Kaming limang matatapang (or tanga) decided to take the ultimate buwis buhay route, and after almost an hour nanginginig na kami ng bongga.

After three hours of walking, wading, climbing, and taking in the wonder of being inside a cave, we finally climbed up (275 steps) and out of the cave. When we got to the road, kulang na lang pumlakda kami sa daan sa pagod. BUT! It was all worth it. Intense yung experience, pero mas intense yung ganda. I won't even try to describe what I saw for fear that I won't be able to do it justice. I hope the pictures give y'all an idea of just how beautiful Sumaging cave is.
